The Manifest has two main ways to look at a day. Table lists every booking with its guests, status, and balance. Timeline lays the day out by resource and hour, so you can see who or what is where, and move things around.

Switch with the Table and Timeline tabs in the top right. A third tab, Seats, is for seat assignments. See Assigning seats from the manifest. TripWorks remembers the tab you used last in your browser.

Before you begin. Opening the Manifest requires the View manifest permission. It comes with the built-in Owner group, or any custom permission group that includes it. If you don't see the option, you don't have that permission yet, so ask an account admin to grant it to you.

What each view is for

  • Table: check guests in, read notes and waivers, message guests, and print. It's where custom columns and saved views apply. Group the table by Time, by activity, or by Time + Pickup with the Group by menu.
  • Timeline: see the day's resources (guides, vehicles, equipment) as rows and time across the top, with an Unassigned row for bookings that don't have a resource yet.

Work in the Timeline

  • Reassign or reschedule a booking: drag its block to another resource or another time. You're asked to confirm only when the place you drop it is already full or blocked out. This needs the Edit bookings on trips or Change existing trips permission.
  • Book a trip: select an empty cell, then Book a Trip.
  • See or add blackouts: select an empty cell, then Blackouts. To create one, drag across empty cells to choose a range, add an optional internal note, and select Create Blackout. Select Clear Blackout to remove one. Creating and clearing blackouts needs the Manage resources permission. See Create a resource blackout.

Dragging bookings and booking from empty cells work on a computer. On a phone the Manifest shows the Table or Timeline from its options menu, without drag and drop.

What works in which view

  • Print, CSV export, and Group by work only in the Table. The top-bar buttons are turned off in the other views. The Seats view has its own print preview.
  • Filter works in both. Type in the Filter box or use the funnel button to narrow what you see.

Examples

  • Find an unstaffed trip: switch to Timeline and look for bookings in the Unassigned row.
  • Cover a sick guide: drag each of their bookings to another guide's row.
  • Make a boat unavailable: drag across its hours and create a blackout with the note "engine service".
  • Check that nothing overlaps: use Timeline to see each resource's day at a glance before dispatching.
