When someone buys a gift card, TripWorks can email them a confirmation automatically — with the purchase details, the gift card code, and how to redeem it. This is off by default, so turn it on if you want buyers to get an instant confirmation.

Turn on gift card confirmations
- Go to Setup Sell online Email & SMS Automations.
- Find Gift Card Purchase Auto Confirmation and toggle it on.
- Use the template picker to choose which confirmation goes out, then Save.
Once on, the confirmation sends immediately whenever a gift card is purchased.
If your template isn't in the picker
The picker lists templates in the matching confirmation category. If the one you want is missing, it's in another category — open it, correct the category, and reselect it. See Create, edit & manage message templates.
How it relates to order confirmations
A gift card confirmation is its own automation, separate from the order confirmation that fires when a trip is reserved. A gift card purchase isn't a trip, so it has its own toggle and its own template — enabling one doesn't affect the other.
Frequently asked questions
Are gift card confirmations on by default?
No. Gift Card Purchase Auto Confirmation is off by default. Turn it on and pick a template for buyers to receive an automatic confirmation.
When does the gift card confirmation send?
Immediately after a gift card is purchased, once the toggle is on. It carries the purchase details, the gift card code, and redemption instructions.
Is this the same as the order confirmation?
No. The order confirmation covers trip bookings when they're reserved. The gift card confirmation is a separate automation with its own toggle and template, since a gift card purchase isn't a trip.
