A seat map is a visual representation of your seating layout that allows you to assign guests to specific seats or tables. Seat maps are ideal for:
- Dinner shows and luaus with assigned table seating
- Tours with specific vehicle seats (boats, buses, etc.)
- Events with reserved seating sections
- Any experience where guests need to be assigned to specific seats or tables

With seat maps, you can:
- Visually see which seats are available, occupied, or blocked
- Assign parties to specific tables or seats
- Block seats for maintenance or VIP holds
- Print seat tickets for guest check-in
Setting Up a Seat Map
Step 1: Access the Seat Map Builder
- Navigate to Settings → Seat Maps

- Choose + Create New Seat Map
- Enter a name for your seat map (e.g., "Main Dining Room", "Tour Bus A")
Step 2: Add Zones (Optional)
Zones help organize your seating into logical sections:
- Select + Add Zone
- Enter a zone name (e.g., "VIP Section", "Outdoor Patio")
- Select a color to visually distinguish the zone
- Repeat for additional zones

Step 3: Add Tables or Seat Groups
- Choose + Add Group
- Configure the group:
- Name: Table number or section name (e.g., "T1", "Row A")\
- Shape: Round, rectangular, or custom
- Number of Seats: How many seats in this group
- Zone: Assign to a zone (optional)
- Select Add Group
- Drag the group to position it on the canvas

Step 4: Customize Individual Seats
After creating a group, you can:
- Rename seats by choosing the edit icon and changing seat labels
- Add seats by selecting + Add Seat in the group details
- Remove seats by clicking the trash icon next to any seat
Step 5: Add Labels (Optional)
Add visual markers to help staff navigate:
- Select + Add Label
- Enter text (e.g., "Stage", "Exit", "Bar")
- Drag to position on the canvas

Step 6: Save and Publish
- Choose Save as Draft to save your draft
- When ready, select Publish to make the seat map available for use
- Only published seat maps can be connected to activities
Tips for Seat Map Design
- Use consistent naming: Number tables sequentially (T1, T2, T3) for easy reference
- Create zones for pricing tiers: Group VIP, Premium, and Standard sections
- Leave space between groups: Makes the visual layout easier to read
- Match your physical layout: Arrange tables as they appear in your actual venue
Connecting a Seat Map to an Activity
Once your seat map is published, connect it to an activity:
- Navigate to Catalog → Activities
- Select the activity you want to configure
- Go to Seating Maps in the left menu
- Select your seat map from the dropdown
- Choose Save
