By default, TripWorks shows a balance-due popup when a staff member checks in a guest who hasn't fully paid. That's a helpful prompt if you collect the remaining balance at the front desk. But if your model collects balances after the trip, that popup interrupts check-in on every guest — so you can turn it off.

When to turn it off
Turn this on if you collect the remaining balance after the experience, not at check-in. Common cases:
- Tours where the final price depends on actual usage (fuel, time, mileage).
- Activities that collect gratuity or upsells at the end.
- Reseller or partner bookings where you collect from the partner, not the guest.
If your staff take balance payments at the desk during check-in, leave it off — the popup is useful there.
How to turn it off
- Go to Settings Company Settings.
- Scroll to the Check-In settings.
- Toggle on Skip balance-due popup at check-in.
- Select Update.
Check-in will now proceed normally even when a balance is owed. You can still see outstanding balances on the Manifest by adding the balance column.
Frequently asked questions
Does this write off the balance?
No. It only hides the prompt during check-in. The balance is still owed and still visible on the trip and in your reports.
Is this account-wide?
Yes. The setting applies at the account level under Company Settings.
