The Group Name field in TripWorks allows you to label a booking with a meaningful title instead of relying solely on the lead guest’s first and last name. This is especially useful when managing:

  • Large group bookings
  • Special events like birthday parties or bachelorette trips
  • Corporate or school outings

Assigning a group name makes it easy to reference the trip across your dashboard—during checkout, in confirmation emails, on manifests, and in reports.

Why Use a Group Name?

Using a group name enhances organization and clarity in several scenarios:

  • Clear labeling for events (e.g., “Jackson Family Reunion” or “Google Team Retreat”)
  • Simplified invoicing and communication with groups
  • Improved searchability in manifests and reporting tools
  • Better customer experience with clear identifiers in confirmation emails

How to Enable Group Name

You can configure the group name field inside the Activity Editor:

  1. From the dashboard choose More > Activity Catalog

  1. Select the activity you want to edit
  2. Navigate to the Fields section from the left menu
  3. Under Required Fields, locate the Group Name field

You’ll be able to set the visibility and requirement status for both online and offline bookings.

How It Appears in the Booking Flow

When the field is enabled:

  • During booking (online or back-office), the Group Name input will appear

  • From within the trip, you’ll still see lead guest details, but the trip will be titled with the group name

  • The confirmation email sent to the guest will also include the group name
  • You’ll see it in the Manifest View and Reporting Tools, making it easy to find or reference trips
