Ticket types allow you to assign distinct classifications to tickets associated with an activity (e.g., adult vs. child travelers or VIP vs. general admission seating). This is especially beneficial when you want to:
- Assign unique prices when Pricing Your Activity (e.g. charge more for VIP vs. general admission seating)
- Automatically Assign Resources to Customers (e.g. for each Adult traveler, assign an adult-sized life jacket; for each Child traveler, assign a child-sized life jacket)
Adding Ticket Types to an Activity
- Navigate to the desired activity by selecting More > Activity Catalog from the toolbar

- Choose an activity from the list
- Select Ticket Types from the sidebar menu

- Choose the Add button for each ticket type you want to create
- For each ticket type, provide a concise name and description

Pro Tip
In the booking widget, ticket type names appear as the main purchase options, while descriptions provide quick, helpful context. Keep descriptions short and clear to guide customers without overwhelming them or distracting from the checkout process.
- For each ticket type, select either the single-traveler or multi-traveler icon. For details and examples regarding these options, review Multi-Traveler Ticket Types

Online Booking and Availability Settings
Bookable Online
Select the Bookable Online checkbox if you want e-commerce customers to be able to choose this ticket type. If you unselect this checkbox, this ticket type will only be visible to members of your team who are logged in to the dashboard

Reduces Availability
Choose whether this ticket type should reduce availability when booked. Leave this unchecked for non-capacity items, like infants on laps who don’t require a seat of their own.

Important Note
If “Reduce Availability” is unchecked, the ticket will not decrease available spots, but it will still be included in the total headcount on your calendar and manifest—ensuring accurate guest tracking without impacting capacity.
Requires Another Ticket
Require at least one specific ticket type (e.g., Adult) to be selected before completing checkout. This helps ensure that child tickets cannot be purchased without an accompanying adult.

Multiple vs. Quantity Option
When setting up the Ticket Types for your activities, the Multiple Option and Quantity Option settings allow you to control two key aspects of the booking experience:
- Whether your customers can purchase multiple ticket types at one time.
- Whether your customers can purchase multiple tickets at one time.

For detailed examples of how each combination of these settings will appear during the booking process, visit Ticket Type Settings: Options & Examples.
Want to Set All Ticket Quantities to “0” by Default During Checkout?
When you choose the Allow quantity" option during checkout, a prompt will appear, giving you the choice to set a default quantity for your ticket types.
- Leave this box unchecked if you want all ticket types to default to 0 during checkout
- Check this box if you prefer your default ticket type to display a quantity of 1 during checkout
