What's the monthly platform fee on my statement?

A recurring monthly charge not tied to a booking. It's your plan's subscription fee, waived automatically once your booking volume clears a threshold.

If you've spotted a charge on your card or bank statement that doesn't match up with a specific guest booking, it's most likely your monthly plan fee: a recurring subscription charge tied to your TripWorks plan, separate from anything a guest paid you. This is different from the per-booking fees covered in Understanding your fees.

There's no in-app screen for this yet. If you want the exact amount, waiver status, or billing history for your account, contact support@tripworks.com and we'll pull it up for you.

Why this charge exists

TripWorks plans (Standard, Pro, Enterprise) carry a monthly subscription fee. It's charged automatically to the card or bank account TripWorks has on file for you, the same one your guest payouts run through, once a month, for accounts that have been live for at least three months.

The line item on your statement won't say "TripWorks" outright. It typically shows your plan name and the billing period it covers, for example "Standard: 2026-05-01 to 2026-06-01," which is the detail most operators don't recognize at a glance.

It's automatically waived at higher booking volume

You don't have to ask for this: the system checks your booking volume every billing cycle and skips the charge if you clear either threshold:

  • Your trailing 1-month booking volume passes a set threshold, or
  • Your trailing 6-month booking volume passes a set threshold.

The exact thresholds and your plan's monthly fee amount can differ by plan and by account. Support can tell you exactly where your account stands and how close you are to a waiver, and can walk you through your payout report if you want to see your booking volume for yourself.

If you don't recognize the charge

  1. Check the billing period in the statement description against your TripWorks plan.
  2. If it still doesn't look right, the amount seems off, you don't remember signing up for that plan, or you think your volume should have waived it, contact support@tripworks.com with the charge date and amount. Support can look up the exact fee calculation for your account and correct it if something's wrong.

Canceling or closing your account

There's no self-service cancellation in the app today. To close your TripWorks account, contact support@tripworks.com. Support will confirm any final charges, process a refund if one's owed, and close the account for you.

Thinking about canceling because of cost, not because you're done using TripWorks? Ask support about your current plan and whether your booking volume already qualifies for the fee waiver. It may be closer than you think.

Example searches

  • Find "what's this $49 charge" — the answer is almost always this monthly plan fee, not a guest refund or a processing fee.
  • Find "how do I cancel my TripWorks account" — support closes accounts on request; there's no in-app cancel button.
  • Find "is my monthly fee waived" — ask support to check your trailing booking volume against your plan's waiver threshold.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as the guest booking fee?

No. The guest booking fee is charged to your guest at checkout on every booking; see Understanding your fees. The monthly plan fee is charged to you once a month regardless of how many bookings you took.

Why doesn't the charge say "TripWorks" on my statement?

The description TripWorks sends to your card network is your plan name and the billing period it covers, not the word "TripWorks." Your bank or card issuer may also show its own merchant name on top of that description.

How much is the monthly plan fee?

It depends on your plan. Contact support to confirm your current plan and fee amount.

Can I see my monthly fee or waiver status in the app?

Not yet. There's no dedicated billing screen for this today, so ask support and they'll pull it up for your account.

What counts toward the booking-volume waiver?

Your trailing booking volume over the last 1 or 6 months, checked automatically at each billing cycle. Clearing either threshold skips that month's charge. Ask support for your account's specific thresholds, or check your own totals in the payout report.

Can I get a refund on a monthly fee I didn't expect?

Reach out to support@tripworks.com with the charge date and amount. Support reviews the fee calculation for your account and refunds it if something's wrong.

Can I cancel my account myself?

Not today. There's no self-service cancellation in the app. Email support@tripworks.com and support will close the account for you, after confirming any final charges or refunds.
