If you need to cancel a gift card in your TripWorks account, the process is quick and easy. Follow these steps to ensure the gift card is effectively canceled:
1. Locate the Gift Card
Use the search box in the upper left-hand corner of your dashboard to find the specific gift card. You can also click the More button in the main menu and select Gift Cards to view a full list.
2. Edit the Gift Card
Once you’ve found the gift card, click Edit in the actions pane to open the details.
3. Change the Expiration Date
Set the expiration date to today’s date or a date in the past. This prevents the gift card from being used going forward.
4. Save Your Changes
Click Save. The gift card’s status will automatically update to Expired, making it unusable.
Refunding the Guest
Canceling a gift card in this way does not automatically refund any money to the guest. It only disables the gift card for future use. If you would like to issue a refund, click on the Payments tab in the guest’s order or gift card record. Select some or all of the original payment made for the gift card and process the refund.
Always be sure to communicate clearly with your guest if you’re canceling or refunding a gift card to avoid confusion.
