Google Pay and Apple Pay

TripWorks supports Google Pay and Apple Pay for both online bookings and in-person payments. There is nothing to configure — these payment methods are automatically available through TripWorks's payment processing integration and appear to guests based on their device and browser.

Guests who use Google Pay or Apple Pay complete the same booking flow as any other payment method. From your side, the payment shows up normally in the trip record and your reports.

Online bookings

When a guest checks out through your booking widget, TripWorks automatically detects whether their device and browser support Google Pay or Apple Pay. If they do, the corresponding payment button appears at checkout — no extra steps required from the guest or from you.

  • Apple Pay appears for guests using Safari on iPhone, iPad, or a Mac with Touch ID or Face ID.
  • Google Pay appears for guests using Chrome or other supported browsers on Android devices or desktop.

If a guest's device or browser doesn't support either option, the standard card entry form is shown instead. Guests are never left without a payment option.

In-person payments

The TripWorks card reader supports contactless NFC payments, which includes Apple Pay and Google Pay. Guests can tap their phone or watch instead of inserting or swiping a card — the reader handles it automatically.

Don't have a card reader yet? Contact support@tripworks.com to place an order.

No setup required

Google Pay and Apple Pay are enabled automatically as part of TripWorks's Stripe payment integration. There are no settings to turn on, no applications to submit, and no additional fees beyond your standard processing rate. If your account is set up to accept credit card payments, you already accept Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Troubleshooting

A guest says Apple Pay or Google Pay isn't showing up at checkout.
These buttons only appear when the guest's device and browser support the payment method. Apple Pay requires Safari on an Apple device with Touch ID or Face ID set up. Google Pay requires a supported browser with a Google account linked to a saved payment method. If neither condition is met, the standard card form is shown instead — which works on any device.

I don't see Google Pay or Apple Pay in my own test checkout.
The buttons only appear when you're using a compatible browser and device, and when a payment method is saved to the relevant wallet. Try testing from an iPhone using Safari (for Apple Pay) or an Android device using Chrome (for Google Pay).
